Adults over 18 can apply directly to the Minister for a Gender Recognition Certificate. For ages 16–17, parents/guardians must apply to the Circuit Court for exemptions, reversals, or appeals. Under 16s cannot apply. Court forms, rules, and support.

Child care cases cover children placed in or supervised by the state under the Child Care Act 1991. Tusla can seek Emergency, Care, Interim, Special Care or Supervision Orders. Courts may appoint representation, and orders can be appealed.
