1. This practice direction deals with parties who fail to issue and/or serve notices of appeal within the times prescribed in the Rules of the Superior Courts (Court of Appeal Act 2014) 2014 SI No. 485/2014. It applies to both expedited and ordinary appeals.

2. It shall not be necessary to make an application to the court for an extension of time to appeal or to serve a notice of appeal out of time if a letter of consent to such course is procured from the respondent or the proposed respondent to such appeals.

3. The registrar is empowered to issue a late notice of appeal or to deem late service of a notice of appeal good provided a letter consenting to such from the respondent or the respondent’s solicitors is produced to the registrar.
